Iran Air, Etihad among top three with lowest OTP among arriving flights as per DGCA data

MUMBAI: If you are flying Iran Air or Etihad, you are most likely to be delayed while arriving at Indian airports. According to data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Iran Air has an on-time arrival performance of about 30% in India. It is followed by Ethiad which has 30% OTP. PIA is among the worst performers, with only about 9% arrivals on time.
The data shows that Iran air and PIA are also among the top three airlines with the worst on-time performance for departures as well. PIA has an OTP of about 41% while Iran air of about 33%. Ethiopian airways is the worst when it comes to departure OTP with only about 26% of its flights departing on time.
"Some of these flights land late at the airport and then consequently depart late as well. It is a cycle which continues for days together," said a senior airport official.
